The month of May

This May, I will be busy with many events. It kicks off on May 9th for the 5th Rockpile Sheepherder’s Rendezvous. I will be there again this year with all my fibers and yarns. It’s a one day show, but it looks like we are going to have another beautiful day for it. I need to check the condition of my event tent. We had a mishap last year with winds. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will be able to make it through another year of shows before it needs to be replaced. I have been prepping like crazy because this is just the beginning for me. I have been dyeing up lots of new fiber and yarns as well as many knitting hats.

The following week, I will be teaching wool spinning to the elementary school kids at my Local museum. I will be taking my antique Great Wheel, a drum carder and some peg looms to teach with. The wheel is a family heirloom from the 1860s and peg looms are a great introduction to weaving. I’ll admit I am nervous about teaching kids, but always amazes me how fascinated the boys are by the Great Wheel.

Then it’s off the The Fiber House on the 16th for a trunk show. I will be leaving the trunk show until the 23rd and will be at the shop on both Saturdays. I love spending time at The Fiber House, they have been great supporters of mine since 2021.
