Are you as tired of the heat as I am?

It has been a long summer! Lots of heat and fires, yet much more humidity then we are used to in Wyoming. Weird! I was at the Glenrock Sheepherders Rendezvous this past weekend and the humidity was 40-50% most of the day and the temperature in the mid 90s, yuck. I didn’t miss the summer stickiness that we had in Michigan, and they can have it back!

Other than the humidity, I had a great weekend. Lots of sales, reconnected with other vendors and fiber artists, brought home some beautiful fiber and a handwoven wind chime. The Jackalope Spinners and the Laramie Fiber Guild were the foundation of the Wool Street with demonstrations, and bought about 2 good sized totes of fiber braids between them. One of the instructors, Izzie had the most amazing spinning wheel! It was custom made by a motorcycle builder in aqua aluminium with a star emblem on the front, very 50s vibe.

I had dyed up some Highland yarns in 20 semi solid colors in fingering and DK weight for the show and will be listing them here by this weekend. Highland wool is the perfect workhorse yarn for sweaters and blankets. For a hand dyed yarn, it is affordable too!
